Celtic Music in Hawai’i
Irish dance is a fun and lively style of dance best performed with live music. We are fortunate to have a number of very fine Irish and Celtic bands right here in Hawaii.
Celtic Waves – Our most frequent performance partners, Celtic Waves graciously invites us along to pretty much everything they do! We love to dance with this band at the pub, at parties, and at a number of events throughout the year.
Whiskey Starship – From their website: “Whiskey Starship plays traditional and contemporary music in the Celtic, New England, and Old Time style: jigs, reels, hornpipes, waltzes. We play for contra dances and square dances, for private parties, restaurants and pubs, for church and community events.”
The Kilt Lifters – A bit of the Emerald Isles on the Hawaiian Isles! The Kilt Lifters celebrate our island nations with their ecclectic and electric celtic rock duo. With rocked out traditional and original tunes, paired with beautiful classic ballads, The Kilt Lifters bring a modern twist to the celtic music we all love.
Craiceáilte – Based in Kailua Kona on the Big Island, Craiceáilte is an energetic group, bringing the Irish Punk sound to Hawaii. Headed by front man, lead singer and guitar player, Chris Cusick.
